So excited! I finished block 4. My colors were inspired by the beautiful confetti background fabric.

Love this! I really like those striped fabrics for the petals. I also really like all the fabrics used for the hollyhock circles, too, and the border fabric for the house block. I keep wondering why I never have any fabrics like this, then realize I'm probably not looking in the right section of the stores as I tend to gravitate towards batiks. Linda

wow - now there is a good use of stripes! This just makes me want to look at all the patterns and see where they are going!

Month 4 finished. Not sure why my cornflower overlaps my hollyhock, but I don't mind. Love the colors.

I got caught up, yeah! The only thing I appliqued by hand were the 6 leaves per square. Everything else I did machine applique. I'm pretty sure I would be tearing my hair out if I did all the applique by hand. I thought it was bad enough just to do those 24 small green leaves over 2 months. I had found a charm pack last year that I bought for doing something, then realized it was a match to our Tula Pink fabrics for this kit. Since I had all these nice extra pieces, I made each flower a different color set. We have lots of coneflowers at our house & they are various colors, so that's what I did with this quilt. I laid down whichever color I decided was darkest & appliqued all 3 petals down, then added the lighter color over top & appliqued those next. Since they came together at the top and that part is covered by the cone, I didn't even have to stop while using the machine doing 3 at a time. I did notice that I randomly chose which fabric to do right side up & which one to do reverse, so I ended up with 2 flowers with lighter as reverse & 2 with darker as reverse. I may be the only person that it bothers (my husband didn't even notice) & I'm certainly not going to change it now. I just wish I had planned better to start with.

                Linda

I have finished month 4 ! I had trouble with the cone flowers over lapping the leaves and flowers. I don't know why my flower was too big. Glad for the forum to see others had the same problem. But overall it was fun.
