Google Washington Monument paper piecing pattern and you will see several that will give you an idea how to draw your own. That is probably the easiest building to draft.

my blog post of July 11, 2021 has the skyscraper design area:

          Barbara,
          CHIMNEYS ISSUE:

Nowhere this month do you address how the chimney strips are made!
Its not on the printout, on your blog, or on the video.

Was a page omitted in the pattern?
I think there needs to be an amendment page for the chimney section, IMHO.

As an experienced quilter, I can figure it out.
But there's beginner level participants here.

Something to consider and pass along to the author as well.

The chimneys are part of section 5. Following the stitch sequence numbers as usual, makes it an easy process, 1,2,3 etc.

Just wondering if piece e in Sections 2 and 3 is a tad small. It was tight fit for me at 1 1/2 square, so I upped the measurement to a little longer, like 2x1 1/2 or so. Thanks Barbara.

I found them too small as well and upped it to 2 x 1 1/2 as well.

Agreed. It was cut too small for sure.

Barbara - This really would be helpful to change on the pattern for piece e - the finished piece measures just over an inch long, so the original 1-1/2" doesn't provide the same coverage as all the other pieces. Thanks so much for all your work on this!

You can always cut pieces a little larger if that helps.

Just want to check before trimming Section 5. Looking at piece paper side up, the left edge from cutting line to cutting line is 5 3/8”, the right side is 5 1/2”. This makes the top of the section slightly curved when trimmed on the left hand side. Is this correct?

Just make them the same, it's only 1/8" difference. These are hand-drawn patterns and can be off just a bit.

The instructions say to cut borders 5” wide, and to cut 7 strips that size, on the crosswise grain—that only requires about one yard. About two yards if you want to cut them on the lengthwise grain.
