Tall Buildings #4 -- Ask Questions Here

Month 9 patterns are up now. Here are my additional instructions to help you, especially as you start to sew the four Tall Buildings together: 1, 2, 3, 4.

    https://bbquiltmaker.blogspot.com/20...ildings-4.html

I will do a Facebook LIVE broadcast Friday September 3, 2021, noon CST, where you can ask questions.

Tall building #4 Rt. side pg. 6 . The bottom of the shadow piece is cut off a good 3/4" on the left bottom side after I print this page.

Use a pencil and ruler to continue the lines.

Try printing using the A4 setting. Only way I could get the 1 inch square.

I am concerned that the background top edge of my tall buildings 1-4 will not line up evenly. I'm not sure why, but a few of the tall houses (usually #1 to #2) just didn't match up at the top. Will this be able to be 'fixed' when adding the outer border? The buildings themselves look just fine. Thank you.

If they are off no more than an 1/8” you can fix this when adding outer borders.

My guess is the many seam allowances may be off just a bit on some of your Tall Buildings. See if “assertive Pressing” might make the Buildings the same size—when you are ready to sew a pair together and find them not exactly the same height.

I agree, On my block 4, two of my buildings were longer. I just ran a line of stitching along side each section and that fixed the problem. Surprised myself.

A question about lower curved edge of buildings. Is the outside line the correct curve or the inner dashed line? The 1/4" line of TB4s seems particularly wobbly.
        Thank you.

All of the patterns are in the LEARN tab, 2021 BOM. Access each month individually.

Use the seam line, the inside line, and add the 1/4” seam allowance beyond it. These are hand drawn patterns and I find there is occasionally some variation.

Make sure you are printing at 100%. When I changed my printer setting to A4, the % changed to 97% so when I reset it at 100% it printed properly. I also cut a piece of freezer paper to 8 1/2x12 to get the full page.

              Morning
This month the templates are printing off without the numbers/lettering on each template. The 1" scale is correct. Am I OK to use the templates?

I don’t know why you aren’t getting the numbers. I printed them recently and all numbers/letters are there.

If the 1” scale box is accurate your patterns should be correct.

Hi Barbara, At the end of the year do all of the videos disappear along with the pattern? Or do the videos stay with the Quilt Show? I am very far behind and watch your videos more than one for each step. I am still putting together small houses.
Thanks for all of your help all of the time. ;-) lynn

I have been told the videos do stay. And my blog posts stay on my blog.

Why isn’t piece a on left side the same size as the door? Should piece a be cut 1 1/4 by 3 1/2.

No question, still trying to catch up. I started in April, half way through tall building #2, so am getting there. Maybe there is hope for me.
