color my world question re: house block height
I am trying to attach my trees to my small house blocks. my sewn block measures approx 11" high while the overlay to guide me with the trees printed off at 10" high. Should i trim all my house blocks to the shorter height before attaching trees?

Hi, Sallie. I answered you the other day, you must have missed my comment to your original question about this.
No, do not trim the Small Houses. They should be about 11" tall. The Layout Template for trees is just a guide to placing the tree trunks, nothing more. It is not a perfect template for the houses and wasn't intended to be.Barbara Black

Can anyone tell me what the inside circular measurement of the inner road is supposed to be to fit the 15 1/2 inch mariners compass? I have the mariner compass circle the correct size, but when I sewed the inner road to it the whole thing puckered up and would not lay flat. The road pieces went together nicely and it seemed I eased the road and compass together, which seemed right but after I sewed it I could see that the inside circle of the road is not big enough to fit the compass part.
Also, what is the outer circular measurement of the inner road supposed to be to fit the small houses piece?

Thank you for responding to my question Helen. I correct myself on my compass, it is the correct size of of 14.5. But with the new information of the outside diameter of the inner road should be at 18 inches is helpful. I don't understand what I've done wrong, but I will unsew some of the road seams and make them less than 1/4 inch until the outside edge will reach 18 inches. Right now it's at 17.5. Hopefully that will correct the issue.
