Just starting my second ring of houses and other stuff. I figure I will do a few days each month and stay with the theme of BOM.
I am loving all the creative ideas being posted. Right now I am trying to pull a country theme into my flannel 60 % version.
I think my mountains might be too light so I might swap out for a more green tone or just put some darker shadows on what I have
so far. Have not started making the wildlife.Thinking I might use the trees as the transition between houses and wildlife. Any suggestions are welcome. This is truly a fun BOM. HelenW

Helen, this is awesome! I love everything you have included in the newest circle, especially the barn and the mountains. Such great creativity! Will this be your last circle, or do we have more to look forward to?

I agree whole heartedly with Patricia. This quilt has been so much fun to sew together. I bought one of the offered Kits
but it has been so much fun, that I started another as well. Everyone has been so creative and the photo's are just fabulous!

Carole B, Thanks for the compliments. I have another flannel UFO that is waiting to be finished. I pulled some blocks from
that and laid them around my Circle to see what a pieced or applique border would look like. Right now, I am thinking finish
this circle and then design a border that is either pieced flannel traditional blocks or flannel applique blocks or a combo.
Laid this out to give you a feel of what I am thinking. HelenW

That would totally finish it off beautifully! Now you get my wheels spinning for an outside order for mine. I was leaning toward a cotton border with appliquéd penny rounds in my wool felt, but your blocks are stunning. Are those a pattern or your own designs?

Carole B, Most of the border blocks are from last years BOM Afternoon Delight and some are modified with other patterns
that I just pull a small flower, leaf or concept from. Here is a picture of another of my UFO's. Last years BOM. HelenW

I finished my small houses circle but I feel like it's too big. It feels very too large on the inside edge. I have been quilting a long time and did this as carefully as possible. Is it just me? How will this lay flat? Right now I feel as though it needs 3 large tucks to lay flat. My seams are pressed open. They are 1/4", the entire center is a17.5".

Peggy, That is the correct size. It should work fine when you add the road ring. HelenW

You are supposed to sew two houses together, then sew the tree to those two and proceed like that.
When you get then all connected in pairs, sew them into a circle. HelenW

Attaching my ring and trees. The trees do add so much, I feel, to unify the circle. Everyone's work is just beautiful!

your measurement is right on target. The Mariners Compass is 14” finished, the Roads are 2” finished, they will fill the center space.
