I’ve enjoyed seeing everyone’s amazing quilts. I am slower than most because we are packing to move again for the second time in 2 years. My motto has been pack a box, sew a block! Love this project!

Finally finished block 3....redid my Mariner's Compass too once I figured out what the problem was. Much happier with the final result.

Just finished my houses. I'm feeling a bit unimaginative after seeing some of these real creative designs for this project. I am anxious to see the various ideas for the trees. . . . . I'm thinking I may be able to do something a little more creative then.

Here are my small house pairs. I had them done but I did not have a good way to play with that many blocks. So my wonderful husband made me a design wall. So here they are yeah! Now on to the trees.

Well, March was definitely March Madness at my house. All is settled down and I have finished up month 3. I'm doing the 78% size. On to trees.

I’m a little behind so I’m catching up and having a lot of fun using all the colors in the jumbo crayon box! Left 4 columns are month 3 “small houses 3 & 4” - right side are the month 1 “small houses 1 & 2”. Next step is to arrange them in pairs and appliqué the trees onto each pair for the April instructions.

                    Hi Helen W,
Actually, the reason I was late on the March houses is because I got totally sidetracked doing back basted hand applique on Kim McLean's The Flower Garden. It's so much fun, that I couldn't stop and get back to my machine. I can't arrange them on my wall to get a good picture until I get these houses (and trees!) under control! Beth BL

These houses just kept jumping around when I was trying to arrange them, so at this point, I’m not really sure how much of the final arrangement is my deliberate effort vs the quilt deciding for me. For every block I carefully placed, 3 already placed blocks would fall off the design wall and demand to be put in a different location! I’m just reminded that you really need to listen to the quilt, it knows what it knows! I will just have to consider this a true quilt collaboration. And the pairs aren’t joined together yet, so I expect there may be more shuffling before we are all sewn together!

I’m truly enjoying this pattern and experimenting with color - so much fun!
