I understand that sm houses #3-4 are different, but I am having knee replacement in March and wanting to be sure I have as much as possible ready in advance. My only question is - 1. Will we be cutting the background pieces 5-1/2"x7-1/2" for some and 5-1/2"x6" for some? Any other cuts I can have ready? Thanks Barbara.

Good question. I have had both knees replaced and know how you want to do what you can ahead of time.
The background pieces for Small Houses 3 and 4 are also made the same way as 1 and 2, if using my Speed Cutting method. The measurements are the same as Month 1 and are already listed on the Speed Cutting Instructions pages. The backgrounds for Small House 3 use pieces labeled n and o, the backgrounds for Small House 4 uses pieces labeled j and k. The FACE UP/FACE DOWN issue remains just as important. You could get these cut ahead, just keep them organized so they are ready to go. You could even figure out which fabrics you want for each Small House 3 and 4--each has a door, windows, roof and the building, just like Month 1. I think that is your plan, if I read your post correctly.
You will feel like a new woman 8 weeks after surgery--just do all that physical therapy as instructed!

The coloring page is nice to refer to and I would like to mark the small houses. Which ones are the small houses 1, 2, 3, 4?
I desire to align houses next to each other to create Rainbow Row in Charleston, SC. I also would like to use something different in the outer corner blocks (i know these are later in the year), but I am trying to design my own. Is there any info on size constraints?

I would like to share a tip for paper piecing. When you place your next piece in position to sew your seam and you have the paper folded back, if the new piece of fabric completely covers the section on the folded back paper that is to be covered, the fabric will cover the section when it is sewn and folded out. No need to pin and check. Just make sure all the edges, points and corners that are supposed to be covered are covered. The folded back paper is at the same angle as the fabric. When the seam is sewn and the fabric and paper are folded out, the fabric will cover the section as required.

I just want to echo Barbara's comment about the knee surgery. I have also had both knees and a hip replaced in Toronto, Canada a number of years ago and they are still going strong. It sounds like a recording but do the exercises and you will be delighted with the outcome. No more pain - yeah!
I am enjoying this learning experience as I am completely new to these techniques. Your instructions and videos are wonderful. Thanks so much for your hard work.Sugiee
