Never worked with canvas, but I thought it might work with the shot cottons. It’s a looser weave like the shot cotton. What Art History 101 fabric is in the “sold out” kits?
The Art History 101 we are using is 100% quilting cotton, beautiful fabric. This fabric design is several years old so is not easy to find. Windham is printing more for The Quilt Show kits.

There was a panel too, not useful for Color My World.

Hello All, After seeing on Alex's show the reveal of the 2021 quilt, there was some discussion about the iconic towers in the corners. Perhaps someone has clearly explained, but the one in the lower left is the Sydney Tower, Australia. This is a global quilt - Big Ben, Eiffel tower, SF Transamerica Building and Sydney Tower pretty much displays the globe. Thank you for sharing this quilt with us. Looking forward to the challenge!

DebbiG didn't get it quite right.

        Big Ben, London
        Eiffel Tower, Paris
One World Trade, New York City
        Centrepoint Tower, Sydney

I posted this a couple places, will mention it again in the first Facebook Live coming in the next few weeks.

This is my first time using shot cottons. This will be an art quilt hanging on the wall. Can I mix batiks in with the shot cottons? I was thinking batiks for the background, the trees, the mariners compass, and the window and doors, and shot cotton for the buildings. Will mixing materials be a problem?

Mixing fabrics will not be a problem. Batiks will work beautifully with shot cottons. The freezer paper foundations add stability as you piece the units..

I am an advance beginner to quilting but have sewn many things for years. How difficult do you feel this BOM will be for me? I am all in to being apart of this BOM.

You have the first requirement: desire. As with most of the Block of the Month quilts we offer, it is not a zippy, throw it together quilt. It will take accurate 1/4” piecing when joining the various houses/buildings together.

Those not familiar with paper piecing will learn a new skill. Those who have not used freezer paper for foundation piecing, will learn a new skill.

The number one reason to make this quilt is because you love it and want to own one. Slow, steady and careful will get the job done.

It is expected to be 4-6 weeks from now--the background fabric is being reprinted.

Go to the store and click on the "email me when back in stock" button for the Kit you want--that will NOT place an order for you it will let you know as soon as it is back in stock so you can jump on it and place an order then.
