Circle of 2020 BOM where are you from?

It is interesting reading some of the posts and I wondered about everyone and where they are from. I am in Toronto Canada. i have been an unactive member for quite a few years here but I hope that with this new block of month we can meet new friends, but have been a member since 2007 hard to believe!
I hope that the quilt show will have some guest speakers with applique hints and suggestions this year while we work on our project nothing is better than doing some hand work and watching a little Quilt show segment.
Technology has made it that I can take it where I go and watch while I am on my lunch break while working on my hand work.

Hi-- I've been a member of The Quilt Show since the beginning, and I made the 2009 BOM, "Stars for a New Day". I'm from Tampa, Florida. I pulled a bunch of bright novelty prints from my stash for a class I took this summer, and then didn't use any of it, due to creative differences with the teacher. I'm going to need to find a neutral once we get measurements, but am excited to get started.

I just joined, and this will be my first BOM ever. I'll try to stick with using fabrics from my stash. Since this is scrappy, I think that should work! I live in Southern California - my best gardening season is October-April, so I may get off to a slow start, but catch up with the weather gets too hot for gardening.

I have been a member since the beginning, and this will be my second BOM I have done. I'm still working on the first one, it is the 2009 one, however, I just started that in Jan of this year. I have 3 or 4 more months to go, but I work on more than just one month at a time. But it won't be done before the end of this year obviously.
I hope to not fall too far behind on this BOM, but knowing me, I probably won't get it completed in 2020.

I live in Colorado Springs CO and am retired. I try to do some sewing every day, but already have so many other projects I'm working on, and for 2020 my goal is to finish up some UFOs. I wanted to do this BOM because I have recently started getting interested in doing applique, so thought this would be a great way to get some experience.

I saw that the other day. I'm still waiting for some fabric I ordered to arrive, but I read through the directions, and will start cutting my background fabric while I wait.

Hi, I am Carol from north central Iowa. I am looking forward to starting Afternoon Delight and meeting new friends and renewing some old quilting friendships. I have been a TQS member since 2007. The past few years I have not been very active and when I saw this quilt displayed at IQF in Houston this Fall I knew I had to participate. I fell in love with it.

I thought it would be a great quilt to work on practicing the importance value plays in quilt design. When I first saw "Afternoon Delight" I was filled with feelings of warm and cozy, with lots of character and charm. So I went to my friend "Google" and typed in the words, "warm", "cozy", "full of charm", and "relaxing". What popped up on the screen intrigued me and brought me to a time that was simple and welcoming. I loved the rustic feel and the soft color palette. I started looking for fabrics with the farmhouse character. I decided to use a neutral grey palette and have chosen Primitive Gatherings Urban Farmhouse prints.

I look forward to a fun 2020 with all of you.

                              Carol
