Oh! I think I took a picture of that town name when we were driving through last year!
I thought it was such an awesome name!

At the end of step 1, it says to trim HST to 2". Did you do that?

I'm sure you will be able to use your block in another project!

FYI, I finally got two difficult fabrics to stop bleeding by adding white vinegar to the soaking water.

How much vinegar to how much water? The curious want to know.

I"m with Rosemary, where ever we go has to be cool enought to need quilts at least some of the time.

I think for a half to 3/4 yard piece of fabric, about a gallon of water and a couple of glugs (isn't that scientific?) of vinegar...maybe 3/4 cup. I was just filling a big bin in the tub. Now, the culprits had several previous soaks, but this finally stopped any color in the water. Persistance!

Okay thanks Susan. I can relate to a couple of glugs!

Quilty in Co. Clare here in Ireland, although it has the perfect name, is not good enough because it would be too cold and windswept most of the time. I agree that it must be somewhere that we can use quilts some of the time, after all it is our raison d'être. Personally I would go for the south of France, somewhere with a bit of culture and heat, good food, fresh bread and croissants every morning, good coffee....you get the picture. Sorry for hijacking the thread for those of you who are tut-tutting right now.

I learned a new word today. Fells like my grandson when he picks up words. He is 1½ years now and while we were having dinner he said very clearly: temperature. So cute! My new word is: glugs. Like the taste of it (doesn't have to be vinegar - uhh?)

Rita, I'm with you on the South of France. I'm thinking we could just take over a city and name it anything we want!

'Glugs' can be used with most any liquid as a unit of measure - red wine into a stew or bolgnaise(ish) type dish is most likely in this household
