A plea to fabric manufacturers: Make more night sky fabric!

Do you know who the manufacturer was? maybe you could get in touch with them to see if they had any left.
I bought some gorgeous fabric very dark blue/purple with little gold stars and on the other side it was the same but without the stars, you could use both sides it was almost like a batik
I loved it but can I get it now? of course not.

Anne, unfortunately I seem to have cut off the selvage from the tiny piece I have left, but I think it was a Robert Kaufman celestial fabric. But after all of this, I decided to embroider the tiny stars across the sky. It will make it more fabulous I think anyway. Thanks for the suggestion though. I just wish they'd keep some of their best pieces going.

I think this is probably the same fabric that I have. One of my favorites!! You can't have enough of this one, no matter how much you get!!

OK, I found another piece..not big enough, but with the manufacturer's label on the selvage. It's Hoffman fabric Celestials Style #93002. I just wrote them an email asking if they have any left. I'll let you know what/if they answer. They probably don't since it's several years old.

Thanks for the heads up, but I really want the black and they only seem to have 1 yard left anyway. If I can't get the black, I'll do some embroidery/painting.

How about designing your own fabric? If you google "design your own fabric" there are several sites that print your design on fabric for you. I've never tried it, but it sounds like fun.

Thanks for the idea. I have tried it. Getting it printed is really expensive, so I think I will just embroider/paint some for this project. But thanks for thinking of that idea. I haven't yet heard back from Hoffman fabrics. I hope they will answer me.

Ha ha...just as I was writing to you I got an email from Hoffman. They said "Wow, this is about 10years old. I am sorry. We no longer carry this or anything like it. You may want to try http://www.missingfabrics.com" I sent a reply suggesting they plan on making some wonderful new night sky fabrics in the near future even though it wouldn't work for this quilt.
