    Looking for fabric

I am looking for a fabric that has been discontinued. The quilt shop told me it was a Moda from about two years ago. Does anyone have web sites they can recommend that might carry older fabrics?

I simply googled "discontinued Moda fabric" - I got too many sources to list! Happy hunting.

Thanks - I had tried that but didn't have any luck.

send a swatch to Moda. Get the fabric number and google it. Next time, BUY MORE (That is always my solution! LOL)

Sherry, if you only need a little bit of the fabric, maybe you can scan it and post a photo here. Maybe someone has some they would be will to sell you!

That would be a good idea, Margo, but I saw it in a quilt when I was peeking in a quilt shop window in Phoenix after they were closed. I called the shop and asked about the fabric and they said it was an older Moda (black & white with very large flowers). I found another fabric that might work but really loved the one that was used in the quilt. :-)

I think posting a photo of the fabric would be a good idea. Then we all could check our stashes or go to our LQS's to see if they might have it. I know my LQS has a huge inventory, and they just might have some left.

Well, I don't have a picture, but thanks for offering.

Well Sherry, this is my DUH moment. You told Margo there was no picture. I'm going to my LQS tomorrow and I'm going to look for fabric like you describe. Who knows, I might get lucky.

I just checked my stash because your description sounded so familiar. I used the fabric! It was a wide backing fabric.
A good substitute would be Alex's fabric.... Redwork Rendezvous.

                          Also.... Alex's, Never Enough Romance.

I found the quilt I used the fabric for. It's on the back of my Star quilt in my profile. It's the picture next to the quilt. I used Alex's, Never Enough Romance for the star's.
If I didn't have a broken ankle I would go to Mary's Jo's in Gastonia, NC and look for you. They have tons of fabric that is no longer available. They buy in bulk by the bolt.

I put a picture of, Never Enough Romance black/white fabric in my profile as well. Hope this helps!
