Ladies, I apologize for my absence. With the stress olevels at work, 3 young kiddos at home, and various family and personal drama that need not be mentioned (as it is stressful for me but nothing significant in the grad scheme of life) I needed to take a mental health break for myself...something I am not good at. I'm used to caring for all those around me..it is my profession as a physician after all. Wendy I thank you for your understanding. I envision something fun for you -but simply need the energy to complete it. If anyone other than Wendy is missing a row please let me know! I've taken a detour of sorts and wanted to share. I've always wanted to work on this pattern and I have finally given myself permission to start...something I will work on intermittently, then let sit until inspiration strikes again. It's "catch me if you can" from the amazingly intricate works of Jacqueline deJonge. After a month of quilting in my spare time (for myself) I do feel better! So Wendy I have promised myself ...and now you too..within the next month you will have your row!

Kathy sorry I've not replied I've been away and read your post but internet was too slow to reply. I shall wait by the letterbox in eager anticipation. Like the coffee and key rows girls.
Wow love what you are working on Jen, it's stunning but would love to see it again as you progress. If it's more than a month for my row then no problem.

Ok, so for everyone that has looked at those pictures Jen posted,,, I think we should have a 'real retreat' and work on something like that! I absolutely love all the colors and with the black, oh my, well, I'm just over the moon about it! I'd better go take a walk and calm down,,

Kathy, I received my row from you and it is DARLING!!!! I need to get a photo and post here, it's so adorable! Thank you so very much. I think that completes my set now and I can start playing with how to put them all together! fun!!!!
Jen, your work-in-progress is beautiful!!! I've not tackled curved flying geese before, but love love love the look of them. What a fun, challenging, beautiful pattern you chose!
Luann, lovely to see a photo of you in your avatar spot now! I think I need to change mine...on my screen, my head is cut off....and wouldn't a real retreat be fun for all of us?! :sigh: Maybe one day.....

Jen, your work in progress is beautiful! It is so important to have some me time to do the things that help center us. I'm glad you are taking the time to do this for yourself. Please share more photos when you can!
Kath, I received your row Saturday! Oh my! I love it! It's perfect for me! When I opened it up and showed my husband he said "She sure knows you!" My collection of wine, oil and vinegar bottles are wonderful! I love the colors also. Thank you so much!
My new grandson is so cute! He's a big boy and already out of newborn sizes by his 3 week mark. I love him so! And here's a picture of me sewing with my 21 month old granddaughter. She's the big sister. She loved my thimble!
The summer is flying by as we are traveling quite a bit. But I did get a little quilt made. Now I will quilt it. I've been working on content for my new website. I hope I will be done with that soon! And I've been going through boxes and boxes of my mother's old pictures and etc. Such a lot of work sorting.....
I hope you are all enjoying the summer. Take care! genevaGeneva
