At last, I caught up to start stitching. I can't work fast enough for a purple marker, and that's what some running stitches are.

After stay stitching, I decided to serge the edges, as it was still fraying. I think this will work.

I too had trouble. My problem was I didn't know how to get the picture from my photos on the computer to a place that I could retrieve it. My son had me go to the picture and download it to my computer and then I could retrieve it from my download folder and put it into the forum.

My first of many flowers needed to feel the inner circle of my Round the Garden Quilt. I used Blanket Stitch, Chain Stitch, French Knot and Lazy Daisy. I have my sewing kit packed for 4 days away from home but wanted to post my small progress before leaving to enjoy time with grandkids.

Sandy F, Your first flower is wonderful. By spring, your whole circular garden will be growing. I am so glad you are
posting your progress. I would like to use your ideas when I do mine, probably not til next summer. Did you put any stabilizer on the back?
And I really like the look of the thread you chose. Could you tell me the brand name and size? HelenW

Thank you. I used Wonderfil Eleganza #8 Perle Cotton thread for the green chain stitched border. I used DMC Embroidery Floss for the flower and little blue flowers, 3 strands. I had never used the Perle Cotton before and I loved it. I'm afraid if I try the Perle Cotton for my flowers I may not go back to DMC and I have tons of it.

Suzanne L, Thanks for posting on the Class Roster that you are from Ohio. Are you trying to post a picture from a computer or a phone? I have an iMac computer that I use. I put the photo on my computer from my camera. Then I drag it to the desktop and click on it to resize it. Most pictures seem to be too big for the forum size restrictions. On the tool bar at the top of my computer I click on Tools, then on Adjust Size. I go with 80 percent and put the pixels at 75 instead of the normal 180 that is has. Then when you write
you comments you just click on the little camera here in the post box, You will see Upload on the bottom L corner, click it, and it show what you have on the desktop pick it and click open at the bottom. Then It takes a while while it say working on the screen
and it shows up. This is probably when more lengthy then most people, but it has been the only way I can get my pictures posted.
Once it is posted, you can click on the pictures and they enlarge while you are looking at them. Hope this helps. If any one
has a faster way, please help Suzanne out. HelenW

Were you able to try Barbara step from her post on photos?

Sandy F, I am going to have to try the #8 Perle Cotton. That is what Carole B uses too I think. I have 12 wt. Susan Cleveland
that just seems a bit too thin and #5 that seems a little too thick, except I really liked it for the colonial knot stitch.
I found a great new way to separate my DMC floss strands. I cut a piece of floss, clip a Wonder Clip on one end and
then take a hold of 3 strands in one hand and 3 in the other hand and pull. The thread separates and the clips spins around quickly.
When the separation gets to the bottom you just unclip it. When I saw Alex put the thread in her mouth and pull with
both hands, it made me think, you just need something to hold the bottom. Try it. I have never seen it any where but I am
now using it all the time. HelenW
