Here is my avatar finished. I used the left over ties from making masks for the hair. Notice the bee in my bonnet. I love music and play the saxophone for over 55 years.

This portrait is to honor my mother who is now 98. Surrounding her are the memories my children have from annual visits to see their grandparents who live on Cape Cod. When Alex proposed having interesting hats, I thought immediately that my mom could have a sand bucket on her head in memory of many trips to the beach. The heart is for her new great granddaughter

The first face quilt is what I call my menopause quilt as it says that not only does my mind wander but sometimes it leaves completely- something any woman of a certain age can relate to I am sure. The second quilt with the multiple faces was made for one of my quilt guild's challenges about how I would describe myself as a quilter. Both were fun to make and are on my design wall every day.

Ready to quilt ! . It did create a big pile of fabric to be folded and put away, but is a fun project!!

Finished my face but when I was doing it I was a bit down as I am locked down in Spain at the moment. I thought the face looked a bit pensive so called it "Looking Forward". Looking forward to all the things I can't do at the moment, llike seeing my family, travelling, hugging my grandsons and being able to do what I want to do, not what I am allowed to do. It will come. In the meantime, I love watching Alex and would like to thank her for helping to keep us cheery!

Here she is, all done. I wear dangling earrings all the time, pre-mask time, and often lose ONE, Here are two singles hoping their mates will return.

I quilted my favorite things in the background, grandkids Stella, which means Star, and Sam, who is as busy as a dragonfly. TQS, Alex, Ricky, my guild, HQH, and especially my wonderful group of quilter friends, the Sunday Sew and Sews, SSS.

Using a facing was a first for me--this method incorporates a slot for a dowel for hanging.

Really out of my comfort zone here--give me a complex pattern with thousands of tiny pieces meeting precisely and I am much more comfortable.
