Still working on my design. I could only fit 5 out of my 6 columns on the design wall but you probably get the idea. I really want to make it bigger, but I kind of like the size right now. If I make it larger, I may just do additional gees facing the opposite way, or add a border of Kaffe cut to match the way the colors are going right now. What do you all think?

I finished the Kaffe Fassett mystery quilt last week and wanted to share it. Since I live in Hawaii, I wanted it more Hawaiian looking. I used Kaffe fabrics from the "Orchids" collection. Really enjoyed making this quilt. I learned a lot and practiced my precision work too. It took a while to figure out what to do with the border.
Thanks Alex for doing this Sew Along! I really enjoy it and appreciate you so much.

I am just starting the blocks for the Mystery quilt because it has taken a while to get my material through the mail. So while I waited, I practiced the blocks and completed the Sequoya Sampler with some of my Kaffe stash from charm packs. I chose a tropical theme since we are in Florida.

Here is my finished Mystery quilt and the backing that I made for it with the leftover fabrics. Looking forward to quilting it to see what it will all look like. Thank you Alex for an enjoyable quilting experience and looking forward to joining you and everyone on the Forum with the basket quilt. P.S. The back was truly a puzzle that I had to put together but lots of fun.

I have not sewed the border on yet, but I think this is what I'm going to do. Since the border fabrics and the large squares are from a fabric line designed by Alex, and she called me teacher's pet, I felt pressure to make this look good. Don't want to get kicked out of the class! lol I have loved this class and learned so much. Definitely stepped out of my comfort zone!
