Finally catching up on my blocks. Now what to do?!

Judyatlake - looks to me like you could use more red?

Some years ago I took a class with Billie Louder who showed a way to make the square in a corner with two half square triangles with the larger triangle--and I think we made them two at a time---like the flying geese method making four at a time. I have hunted through my notes to find my notes but not successful. Looking at the block in the Kaffe quilt no 108, it would be faster and easier to make the parts this way, Do you know what I am talking about?

I'm considering making big star blocks and filling in their bellies with the plain blocks. This is the best I could come up with as an example without cutting into the fabric. I would end up with 6 big stars. Then maybe have them on point? Or I might come up with a whole different idea

Any opinions or suggestions? I'm not doing any cutting of the prints yet. I'm just trying to play a little while I wait and see more of Alex's on Friday.

Poppy Girl 59. Those blocks are also called Cat's Cradle and Creative Grids has a template to make them just as you described. Isn't it nice when people design things to make our lives more fun and easier? Alex--I love your rulers, they truly don't move!

I have been watching the videos and I love what you all have done. I am SO jealous because I cant start on mine. I had carpal tunnel surgery about 10 days ago. My hands were so bad I really couldnt sew. I get stitches out next Monday, and hope to be able to start about1 or 2 weeks from now. I have the fabric, washed and Ironed. I love the work you all have done. I hope I can meet the standards you have set, when I can sew again. Happy Quilting. (soon, real soon).

Hi sunnysewsit, I used the command Strip and binder clips. I put them above my pantry door where they stay when I don’t need them. I clip a larger vinyl table cloth that has a flannel back to the binder clip and put my blocks up, when I’m done I just take the tablecloth down and put it away. It makes a good design wall.

I used the four complementary color wheel to complete this pinwheel variation #9. Intense exercise in matching point. I did my best for now.
