Gayle Hillert's machine embroidered and quilted squares

I love watching what Gayle achieves on the 830 but she doesn't appear to have any written materials to help me (us) get the results. I THINK I have worked out how she constructed the quilted sun square but it would be nice to know if there is a better or easier way to do it.

Since I don't want the embroidery to appear on he back of the quilt, I used my Bernina V6 software to digitize the square. I had to insert the sun motif on top of the Diane Gaudynski quilting square, remove overlaps, then move the sun motif to sew out first. Then I took this out of the hoop and removed any stabelizer that would become trapped inside the quilt. Next I assembled the quilt sandwich, repositioned the sandwich in the hoop, used the 830's absolute check/virtual positioning feature to make sure that the quilting would NOT sew out over the embroidery, said a little prayer to the patron saint of embroiderers/needleworkers (Clare of Assisi according to some lists), and pushed the start button. OK, it worked but was it the most effective and efficient process?

HELP? Can you get Gayle to provide more detailed info or where to find it?

And not all Bernina dealrs are created equal. Some have no idea what you are talking about when Nina M or Jennifer G. or Gayle H. say "visit your Bernina dealer for information on ... ." :?

And be prepared for the price of the binder attachment (ouch).

OK, this is turnin into a grip. Sorry ops:
