I refuse to join the 'Sue Garman School of One Inch Blocks'. I think we should scale up her gorgeous challenge quilt so that it ends up bed size.

            Another great show. Thanks TQS!!

What a wonderful show! I loved seeing the challenge quilts from Helping Hands. And i felt so good to know I had been a part of that $4500 contribution TQS members made to the whole effort!

My 93 year old mother has been watching over my shoulder (I won't give up the front row seat) and she is hooked. We both were moved to tears by the thought behind everyone's quilts and the effort in Mali. I think this might have been my favorite show. Gloria

Our daughter spent 5 weeks on a study abroad in Mali last summer and brought home some great fabrics from the market. They even went to some marketplace that specialized in women's crafts, so it might have been from this project!

She had several wrap skirts made there from the fabric -- very simple - one yard of fabric with small ties placed at the waist.

Mali is very Muslim with some naturalistic religions thrown in (maybe the wrong term), so she was told to wear long skirts, modest tops, etc., but found that the dress was actually less formal than that, which is good because it was pretty darn hot.

I will make sure that she sees this show!
