    Challenges!

We need a new category for the Challenges! Alex posted one and I got the first entry in. I don't know if it's exactly what she's looking for but I submitted it anyway. Y'all get on it!

Cool! But it says you can submit comments, but I can't see how/where? Also, it doesn't say who submitted... I guess so if/when there's "voting" or something we won't be skewed, but so right now there's 2 up & I don't know which is yours! Anyway, the Circles are terrific! After October all us BOM'ers will be circle experts, we can appreciate what that takes!!

If you click on 'View entries' and then click on 'View' for the individual entry it comes up full size and there is a box to submit a comment.

And if you click on it to enlarge there is also an option to view all this persons entries. When you click on that there is a line above the picture that identifies who the entry is for.

I just posted my design wall with parts of my Drunkard's Path variation on it. The border blocks are just stuck to the wall, not sewn yet. And the yoyos are just stuck on with pins at this point, and they don't have their little yellow yoyo centers yet. I think I'm going to like it eventually.

Pat in Rockport, TX, who just bought another treadle, but I'm selling one this afternoon.....

Oh Pat...it's wonderful and I mean absolutely fantastically wonderful. I know I couldn't come up with such an interesting way of combining it...let alone sew all those curves! And the yoyos are a great addition and I like them without the centers.

Well, I submitted my partially done transportation quilt for our 9 mo. old grandson. I think I may have it done before he's potty trained but definately NOT before he's walking!

What with the BOM and another BOM that is actually 2 per month, and the teal blocks for Ovarian Cancer, I've run out of TIME and design wall!

Pat, love your drunkards path. Really like the idea of incorporating the yo-yos. This is going to be an awesome quilt!

Lynn, you're a brave quilter, working on 2 BOM's at one time and neither one looks particularly easy!

                  LynJoa, love you imporvasational quilt.

The works in-progress in the challenge area now are just wonderful! There's such a variety of ongoing projects. I wanted to thank those who have commented on my RCTQ BOM quilt, and my furry gray Quilt Inspector. Quilting this thing (king-sized) by free-motioning on my Elna has become an interesting process. I'm still pondering what to do on many of the blocks. Gray Souffle doesn't help much, because she loves to jump up by the needle WHILE I'm free-motioning!!! There's a closeup of the free-motion feathers on the sashing at http://home-and-garden.webshots.com/...46414451oQkaSh .
I just hope I manage to finish in time!

I finally stumbled in to the new challenges area. I've posted a quilt that I am currently working on. At least I'm trying to work on. I keep procrastinating getting it sandwiched and quilted. There is this upcoming trip to Spain/Portugal (yikes! next Friday) that keeps getting in the way. I enjoyed seeing what everyone is doing.

Leslie how exciting that the trip is coming up so soon! What great fun you're going to have and take alot of design inspiring pics.

Carole, your quilting is looking really great. I had a very fun intro class on machine quilting today at my guild. I keep plugging along and someday I will have something I can do hopefully. Loved this teacher today, she told us how to "think" your sewing. "Down, over, out." Don't know how exactly to explain it but it was one of the best tips for me to know how to get my brain to map out where I'm sewing.

I got a lot of help on my machine quilting from watching a couple of Patsy Thompson's DVDs. She's a TQS member, by the way, which is where I first heard of her. I've watched and re-watched and my techniques have really improved.
