I'm starting to learn ruler work!!

I have the Bernina #72 foot for home machines and some rulers (the Bernina set and some arcs from Patsy Thompson http://blog.patsythompsondesigns.com/ ). Playing around is so much fun!!! I'm amazed that I can do this!!!

So, now I'm following along with this tutorial:
    https://www.bernina.com/en-US/Experience-en-US/Quilting/Quilting-ebooks/Just-Quilt-It-Ruler-Work-For-Quilters

I shopped in my stash and found fabric--woohoo. I can't wait to get it pieced so I can do the ruler quilting!!

I enjoy using the #72 ruler foot. I only have one curved and one straight ruler

A long arm friend taught me to use narrow painters tape (does not leave sticky behind) to mark my project grid.

The tape helps you learn to hold the ruler on straight lines and helps with muscle memory

Have fun. Wish they had a ruler foot for my Pfaff.

Waiting to hear about your results.

Well, life gets in the way of having fun--too many chores have been calling my name!! I have my tutorial table topper all pieced and put together with batting and backing, but I'm still a little hesitant to do the oval ruler work on it. So, I made a sample quilt sandwich to practice my oval ruler work first!! (I know, I'm chicken!! LOL)

I'll post some pics when I get some ovals done.

That is smart. I use test sandwiches to look at thread choices and colors and work on new techniques all the time.

So go for it have fun
