No Walking Foot with the 750QE?

Just brought my 750QE home. I had noticed that it didn't come with a walking foot and asked the salesperson. She said I didn't need one with the dual feed feature. Is that really true? And if so, what foot would I use? Thanks in advance.

I have the 830 and it too has dual feed feature which I love to use with piecing and anytime I want the fabric to sew even. However, when I tried to use it alone to sew binding on a quilt it didn't see to work as well as the walking foot does. Personally, I feel the walking foot has a little more grip and works better on binding, heavy type work. I know some women are okay with using just the dual feed. Try it even on a "quilt sandwich" practice piece and see if you are happy with the outcome. I personally use both with the appropriate application.

Sounds like good advice, Rena! Thanks.

I very much agree with Rena. I, too, have an 830 and while I used to use my dual feed as a substitute for the walking foot (which I also had), once I started using the walking foot, I found that it worked much better for things like quilting straight lines or using decorative stitches for quilting. I'm okay attaching binding with the dual feed, but "playing" on a quilt sandwich with the walking foot seems to keep my quilt sandwich more stable. To me, adding the walking foot turned out to be a good investment.

Thanks, Renata. The walking foot it is, I think.
