    Happy Veterans Day

Thank you to all who have served and/or are serving and the families. Thank you for all your sacrificies.

The local newspaper had the following article on the front page. Veterans and quilters - you can't get better than that. (P.S. I hope this isn't a duplicate post. I tried earlier but never saw it.)

Yes, thanks to ALL our Veterans for what they have sacrificed for all of us!

I have a Quilts of Valor quilting group meeting at MY house tonight - how appropriate is that!??

We started meeting a couple years ago, and have gradually moved from all kinds of needle arts to this new direction -

After helping in the Quilts of Valor Foundation booth at Quilt Festival I am even more motivated to working with this wonderful organization whose goal is providing quilts for every wounded service person (man or woman) who comes home!

      Check them out at http://QOVF.org.

Sandy, that was a great story! I forwarded it to my inlaws - they are 85 years old and he served in WWII and she is a quilter. Thanks to all our veterans!!!

Sandy, thanks for posting the link to that article. It gave me goosebumps to read it. I think that all veterans should have today off instead of all government workers. Many, many veterans are working hard today.

Here's a short videoclip of my local quilt guild, Piecemakers By The Bay, that was taken yesterday by a reporter from the Corpus Christi Caller Times. There's just a tiny glimpse of me in one scene, but you can see lots of my quilting buddies and the quilts we're working on.

That was a nice write up. I know each quilt was accepted with Love. Its always great to see them come home.

As one of 23 million veterans in the US, I say - Thank you for your comments! I served 11 years in the Navy and am appreciative for the freedom we enjoy and the experiences that came along with serving my country!

Here is a wonderful tribute to our veterans. Grab a box of tissues first. Not one word is said, it's a very sweet story.
