Don't see why you can't embellish Ritzy. I've added beads but made sure they are sewn on well so will survive a wash when the mug rug gets coffee on and I put my cup on to see if it still sits ok. (after checking the base is clean  )

Marilyn's one from me was upright, she hasn't complained yet. Actuallly it was white as well but tablecloths are, aren't they?

Marilyn, you always know how to put together fun and really pretty fabrics into an original design--wish I had your imagination AND ability to do echo quilting! I love your mug rug!!! Glad you liked the Sardinian chuck, Wendy!

Lucky Wendy! Great way to start the weekend.

Wonderful job Marilyn and Renata. Both mug rugs are gorgeous!

I'm having a weekend off, courtesy of DMIL. She took the kids to her condo, about 15 min. from home, yesterday night, to give me a break. They'll be back Sunday evening. This last chemo (from Monday) was particularly rough. Several things were different this time and maybe the cumulative effect of it too. Feeling better today though and looking forward to play with some fabrics. Have a few designs and fabrics figured out for mug rugs but, they'll have to wait a little longer. DD birthday is May 22 and I just came across this fabric tea set http://www.instructables.com/id/Quil...Tea-Party-Set/ I know she'll love it. Have the fabrics and the pattern ready and want to have it all cut out so I can hand stitch while she's in school or at night time.
