Here in the San Diego area we were only about 60 degrees today. I hope the new storms and tornados that are forecasted in the Midwest and south aren't too severe.

Lorna, where in San Diego do you live? I lived in the general area there for around 35 years. And, my husband went to San Diego State. I still have one son who lives there, and is the head security guard for a very large electronics company. I miss fish and chips at Anthony's! And camping on the beach by the bay. And Old Town. And, a gazillion other things! But, Montana has it's beauty, and I do love the snow!

We had 73 here in SE Missouri yesterday. We were in a tornado watch, but no storms here. It was a beautiful day. It is cooler today. The high in the low 40s. I am anxious for spring!!

I grew up in Lakeside. Last fall we moved back to the area in Blossom Valley. It's out Interstate 8 between Lakeside and Alpine. I love being back in this beautiful area and close to family.

Cool! I have never heard of Blossom Valley, but am sure we have driven through there a time or two! So, is The Calico Cupboard (or is it The Calico Station? Can't remember!) your closest major quilt store? I was camped out in Borrego with friends one time, while living here in Montana, so took the backroads in to El Cajon, just to go there! Bought all of my fabrics for a Judy Niemeyer quilt, and saved a bundle! Or so I thought, until a friend reminded me that I wouldn't have paid any tax on the purchase if I had bought it all here, so it turned out to be a push! :silly:

Blossom Valley is in an unincorporated part of El Cajon. If you took Interstate 8 to Borrego then you went through this area. I haven't been to Rosie's Calico Cupboard Quit Shop yet. I'll have to check it out. The 2 local quilt shops I've been to are Cozy Quilts and Memory Lane in El Cajon. I have been mostly working out of my stash and trying to finish some UFOs.

Luann, Nancy and Wendy - your mugs rugs are on the way!
Luann's and Nancy's rugs should arrive Monday/Tuesday next week.
Wendy's should arrive within two weeks.
What a fun project - nice to add to my quilting friends and machine quilting skills.
