Here, we have Christmas in April, but it's a day of volunteer work to help clean up houses for those who can't. (sorry quilters, you have to be truly disabled and most home owners who do qualify are really unfortunate. As much as I dream about this, I'm glad I'm not in a position to qualify  )
I was curious about the spelling difference between Danmark and Denmark, (the way we spell it in the US).
Hey Rita, will your National Concert be on Youtube or on TV? Was it recorded in any way?
The sky is blue, it's 50 F, no wind and Happy First Day of Spring!

We have Christmas in July here in Québec on the 25th (I don't know if it is the same in other provinces) - also known as the "Camper's Christmas". Just another reason to celebrate...
Here in Laval, for Spring's arrival, it's raining, 3 Celcius. The sun should show its face in the afternoon... At least, we are not freezing, and there will be no shovelling.

Susan, sorry but no recording except for Radio. The content of the concert is available on CD though. I was performing a song suite called Granuaile written by my DH and based on the life of an Irish pirate queen (Grace O'Malley)from Mayo who lived at the same time as Queen Elizabeth I. The other half of the concert was also written by DH called The Brendan Voyage based on Tim Severin's voyage from Ireland to Newfoundland in a leather currach in 1976 to prove that St. Brendan could have done it long before Christopher Columbus. Best performance yet I am happy to say.

OOh! I remember reading Tim Severin's book about the Brendan Voyage years ago, and being fascinated by it. It is one of the things hat got me interested in what is sometimes know as 'practical archaeology'- if you want to find out if what they wrote was possible, then re-create it.
Where can we get the cd's from, Rita?

Thanks all for your nice comments.
It seems that there is Christmas a lot of times during a year.
Rita, it sounds as you have had a blast doing your concert. I agree with Margo on you and DH being a great team.
Susan, Danmark is just what it is called in Danish. Like Irland is the Danish word for Ireland and Amerika is the word for America. Not too difficult, but wait there are a lot of words that are not the same and we often must use a lot of words to express what you English speaking people can say very short.

Well, I guess it is not too hard to believe, but here in Indiana the day start with a few big fluffy snowflakes but did warm up to 46*F. with sunshine for the first day of Spring.
Rita--my grandson and I listened to many of your songs when we googled you--he wanted to know who flat-Rita was. He was impressed and that is saying something since he is 16 yrs. old.
