Okay, call me stunned, but how have you guys seen a video of this? When I click on the link in the first posting on this thread, all I get is a Norwegian website that shows a video of something being cooked. And since it's all in Norwegian, I have no idea how to navigate the site.

When I click the link it takes me to: HURTIGRUTA MINUTT FOR MINUTT. Hmmm do not know what they are cooking.......It is not a video but live television. The television will post a link to the arrival in Svolvær, I'll share it with you all when it comes up. You can see the American Flag a LOT)

Anne, if you use Google Chrome's browser, when the site comes up: http://nrk.no/hurtigruten/

you will have the option at the top of the page to translate the text into English.

I have no idea why you are getting a cooking thing...right now they are sailing across water....not in a port.

Thanks, Margo, but how do I get to the video of the cruise-by quilting?

Anne, on my laptop I could get the website up but it wouldn't download/play the video stream. I went on DH's laptop and it all came up fine. Maybe mine needs some updates downloaded on it, I've no idea. DH always does those for me. ops: At the top right hand corner of the screen are two flags, click the right hand one (union jack) to get it into english.

Google BitTorrent, you can get free download to your machine (just takes a few seconds). here is the link: http://www.bittorrent.com/downloads

When visiting http://nrk.no/hurtigruten/, you can tell where the Coast Line has been already  . On the red line is red dots...you can click on these red little dots and it will take you back in time and you are able to see what ever you want all over again.

If you use the slider bar in the video screen, you can move to any part of the cruise! Scroll back to 6/19/11 21:00 to come into SVOLVÆR and see Hanne-Grete!!

You will see her close up at: Sun June 19 21:08:04

I also went back up into the narrow and famous Trollfjorden after SVOLVÆR. AMAZING!!

I have been watching clips over the last few days and it's just wonderful!

Here's an amazing rainbow: scroll to Jun 19 at about 20:52 and enjoy the music and the beauty of Svolovar! Then you can see Hanne-Grete shortly after as the boat comes into the town! Wonderful!!

WooooHooo My Cruise-By-Quilting made some attention! This moths newsletter by Sons Of Norway has a 2 page article about Hurtigruta and me waving the quilt, the American and Norwegian flag. It also has a picture of me and Jan (fiberwoman) at IQF last year. WooooHooo. If this gets any funnier I dont know what to do

Some of you may wonder why Iam in this little story. It really is amusing. At a recent family gathering (my sister's wedding), my brother asked me about my quilting and we got onto the subject of how I'd been to IQF in Houston and roomed with a friend I'd met through TQS who was from Norway. This is my step-brother, who has Norwegian heritage, so his eyes naturally lit up. I then told him about the quilt waving event, etc. He and his wife had taken one of these cruises. He thought it would be a great article to write for the newsletter for the Sons of Norway chapter that he belongs to in Colorado. I asked Hanne Grete for permission to have my brother contact her to see about publishing the story with a picture of her on the dock, waving her quilt. He also wanted to include a picture of the two of us at Houston.
When my brother and his wife visited Norway, they attended a car show. It turned out to be the same car show that Hanna Grete's boyfriend, Bjoern, attended. My brother had a picture that he took while there, showed it to Hanne Grete, and they thought they had identified Bjoern in that picture!! Even though positive identification didn't come through, it is indeed a very small world. This story went full circle, even though my brother didn't get to meet Bjoern face to face. It would be wonderful if Hanna Grete finds a way to pay them a visit while she is in Colorado this month! As if she doesn't already have enough on her plate.
Big HUGS to you, Hanne Grete.
