    Quilt shops in Chicago

Traveling to Chicago next week. Is there a shop in the city itself that is worth visiting? I won't have a car to travel to other towns.

Is there really a quilt shop that is NOT worth going to!? There must be some great ones in Chicago. I know the pizza is great. LOL

I have only found one and it is not downtown. Bridget will remember the name of it because she is young and smart ;o)

As far as I know the only shop within the city limits is Quiltology. http://www.quiltology.com/ They have lots of modern fabrics if you like those.

Enjoy the city! We've had some beautiful weather here lately!

(Ritzy -- how much do I owe ya for the compliment? **Smooch!**)

Just returned from my first trip to Chicago -- wow! Loved that waterfront. Shopping there is fantastic, except if you're looking for a quilt shop. For all the square footage downtown devoted to shopping, I was amazed that I couldn't find anything quilt related. Although, I must admit that the architecture there could inspire some great quilt designs!

I recently went to the Art Museum in Chicago and was more impressed with the architecture also!!! See--I knew Bridget would remember.

I enjoyed my visit to Quiltology but really it isn't near any downtown type of tourism. I got to go because it was only a short walk from my dd's 1st apt. (We moved her away from there last month.)

But my daughter went there 3 times in the last year to buy gifts for me. (love the perk of an adult daughter that shops for me ) She just wished they would have been NICE to a 20-something!! She was BUYING for pete's sake! Every visit... NOT nice. On the last visit she asked about intermediate classes. She isn't a beginner in the sewing realm and knows piecing. She just wanted a place to get together with others and sew. They brushed her off and said they didn't do that. This made me sad!!

It would be an effort to get there so I won't visit there anymore. No need when treated like that.
