    ALL NEW GUILD

We are doing it!! Tonight we have our first meeting to start a new guild  And, we are starting sewing together on wednesday

Two of the girls in the guild I belong to all ready (Marit and Goerill) (we sew every other wednesday) have been talking about starting a new guild so now we just go ahead and do it. The location is arranged, most paperwork is done...and now we need the most important thing..the guildname

We are planning to sew on the wednesday that we do not meet eachother on Tverlandet (a few miles down the road), that way we can have members from both guilds and get to sew together every week

I love new beginings. Have fun and grow. I think it is a good idea to wait a short time for a name. Get an idea of the goals of the members or a shared love of one area of quilting, Then have a contest, with input from all members, and vote on the favorite name. My newest group is an art quilt group named BOA (Beyond Ordinary Artists) Find your theme and name it accordingly. Betty Ann in Fl

How fun! I am so excited for you! I joined a guild two and a half years ago and have enjoyed it very much. I think it's great for you to be in on the beginning. Find a good way to let others know about it.

          Have fun!

We are blown away over here. After putting a little notice in the local news paper on saturday we are 25 members even before we really starts up
That just shows how greate quilters think it is to meet up and sew together and learn from each other and get inspired. 4 of the members is totally new to quilting...can you belive that?? So, we are starting up by doing classes to get them started out
We are going to have so much fun!!

We are a little stitching group of four or five who meet three weeks of the month. We call ourselves the BSS, short for the Bitchin' Stitchin' Sisters

I think the idea of having the group suggest names, then voting on them, is a good one.

                    Have fun!

What fun Brink! I know you'll have a great time. I am in a group of five quilters called the WAGS...."Whop Ass Girls".....now I told them that I cannot tell every person I meet that I am that, so the meaning for me is  "Wonderful Angel of God" ......and Camille the WAG (qltcrzy) rolls her eyes and says, "Yea right". We have a great time together and will be leaving tomorrow morning for FIVE wonderful days at Paris Landing State Park....just quilting, eating and sleeping....sounds pretty perfect to me! I know your group can have so much fun and it's great that you already have so many.

Congratulations, Brink! Oh, what a good time it should be! The first lesson should be how to use/hold a rotary cutter, don't want any new quilters out there to get scared!
