If we use 6 strata, do we still keep the freezer paper square at 18”? I assume we draw 5 lines to make 6 areas.

Post this under Kool Kaleidoscope -- Ask Questions Here so people will see it and you will get an answer.
Your question isn't clear--do you mean six SECTIONS within each wedge? If so, yes, you draw 5 lines to create 6 sections.
If you mean 6 fabrics sewn into a strata, no, the pattern remains as Ricky instructed--you may have extra fabric on the strata when cutting the 6 pairs of templates.
Ricky and others will only see a question if you put it in the Ask Questions Here Topic.

Beautiful job. I am confused about how many Fabrics to start. He said look at 20 but do we use like maybe six Fabrics that are similar

I used 16 fabrics. Starting with 20 gives some choices when making strata. I had included 4 stripes but only used one after listening to Ricky’s discussion on fabric selection.

I chose HAlloween fabrics and I’m fussy cutting Wicked Eve fabric to around the center.

This is as far as I've gotten. I'm at a retreat and discovered the rest of my butts and wedges are at home on my cutting/ironing board.

Finished the Kaleidoscope! A fun process, thanks to Ricky! A great teacher. If you can't see the detail, I added Swarovski crystals, and the border is a gold metallic fabric for some zing.

I had a lot of trouble putting together 4 and 5. There is a big gap. Anybody else have this problem? It just does not finish. I hope this isn't the problem that Ricky kept talking about. I thought I was OK, but the two pieces to NOT fit.

YES The exact same problem. Can't figure it out. I thought I was OK too and it's on each one. Did you figure it out? I'd love to know. The dulled edge is too short!

I tried to put up some screenshots, but the photo upload is not working properly, even when you get a medium sized photo
by emailing the photo to yourself at medium size and dragging it onto your desktop to upload. Tried 3 times and it did not work.
Tried with one photo the last time and it came up unapproved. HelenW
