    My New York Beauty Blocks

This was the most challenging quilt I have made. I learned a lot and next time, I will take more time to ensure that each stitch is exactly on the line. A lot of shoring up and piecing once finished because once it was completed there was lot of stretching. I also would try something that I did not have to tear out, I believe that caused a lot of distortion. I used a fat bundle of Robert Kaufman that I thought when I got it was the worse match of fabrics. This was the perfect quilt to use all these fat quarters and a few adds. I may put a border on it and will post that later.

I tried the stable stuff poly on my last few pieces. I love it, no need to tear it out!

Nice design! I like the play of colors and relationships the different background colors create. I found that I liked using the freezer paper method where you fold it back on the line to stitch rather than stitching through the paper. No paper to tear off and you can reuse the paper piece to make more than 1.

I used a fat bundle of Robert Kaufman that I thought when I got it was the worse match of fabrics. After finishing that quilt and finally sitting down, I ended up scrolling through 1win apk for a bit, it’s kind of my quiet way to unwind after spending hours fixing seams and lining up stitches. This was the perfect quilt to use all these fat quarters and a few adds. I may put a border on it and will post that later.
I’ve found that even with careful planning, the fabric itself sometimes dictates the outcome — a bundle that feels mismatched on the table can suddenly make sense once the colors are forced to work together in a finished quilt.
