LTG HST Block #2 Layout and 60-degree triangle blocks
Hi!
I noticed that the lay-out for the HST Block #2 shows a different configuration than the photo of the block. On the sides where the lay-out shows two dark value corners touching, the photo shows them rotated.
Also, I noticed that the 60-degree triangle template is not 60-degrees. It matches my Tri-Recs template, not my 60-degree template. The Tri-Recs ruler is is about 54-degrees. Just a warning if you're planning to use a ruler for this block.

In regards to the 60 degree triangles on the last Long Time Gone episode, if you have the Postcard Project #4. The templates in that project are exact matches to those in the book. For me its easier, in that the edges of the templates don't get "trimmed" off every time that I use them and the accuracy remains intact. Hope that helps some of you.

I noticed that Dee used the terms, 60 degree triangle and triangle in a square interchangeably. They are not the same. From a quilt book I have " Quilt Lab" by Alexandra Winston she states that the triangle in a square is 63 1/3 degrees. The easiest way to see this is to draw a perfect 5 or 6 inch square and then lay your 60degree template on top. You will see the difference.

Extremely disappointed in my results. I struggled cutting and trimming these accurately Obviously I don’t know if I have it in me to repeat the process. Last week Alex said paper Piecing was the only way so if I could buy these paper I guess I would give it another goSusan Skeel

I found the answer to my problem! Square is called Spikey & Peak or triangle in a square. I just pieced a perfect square using the paper Piecing method from BOM. Thanks Barbara.
