    Long Time Gone Sew Along

I have been enjoying your Saturday Sampler videos. Thanks for doing those. You have mentioned that you will be doing Long Time Gone in February. I Just finished that top a couple weeks ago. It was one of the most enjoyable patterns I've done. The directions are good and everything can out so perfect. The fabrics I choose are a little darker, so I thought I'd share a picture of the finished top. I hope everyone enjoys this as much as I did,

Here are the two I made, as class samples for two six-month long classes.

Barbara, Love those quilts. Especially the bottom one. What a difference the color of the sashing and border make. Those are beautiful!!! HelenW

The first one which I made second. I increased the borders and added lots more piecing to them. I really like those borders.

I love those borders, Barbara, and I think I’ll be copying your idea to make LTG larger. I almost copied your other one with the turquoise sashing but I’ve just completed Sue Spargo’s pattern, Homegrown, on heavy turquoise linen. Thought maybe I should change my color choices up a bit. LOL!

Well done! It is beautiful and the darker fabrics are really nice and it's good to know any palette one chooses is going to be great.

I made this quilt a few years ago. I added squares all around to make it bigger. Made from stash.

Dee, I am enjoying your Saturday Sampler sessions and am looking forward to this quilt along. I have had the pattern for awhile, and will use combo of stash and the contemporary bundle. I also like seeing how others use fabric and color. Do you have an anticipated timeline to complete? Just curious. Thanks!

My book is in transit. I'm looking forward to this project and will use late 19th century reproduction fabrics. I'm curious how long the sew-along will last.

I'm anticipating 2-3 months. There are 13 different blocks of which I will double up on some and then the finishing.

Yes, it would be good to end this project with a discussion about quilting ideas.
