Do you prewash fabrics in the BOM Kit?

Do Sue and Pat suggest prewashing fabrics? I bought the BOM kit.

I've just read a post that says that's the first thing the instructions say

    Mug rugger and lounge lizard

I'm a washer so I already washed and ironed my fabric. I also saw that the instructions for block 1 are out and ready for us.

I usually prewash all my fabrics, but because I bought the BOM kit my worry was about the shrinkage and if there would be enough fabric after washing..I think that I'll gently wash them and lightly dry and iron. So exciting! Love the quilt already! I'll download the pattern today. Great way to start a New Year! Thanks

The instructions say to prewash and then starch the fabric. My question is when the quilt is finished do you wash the quilt to get the starch out? i am under the impression that starch left in fabric isn't good for the fabric.

Yes, the instructions say to prewash the fabric then starch it.

Yes, the quilt should be washed after it is quilted and bound to remove the starch.
