Both my husband and I turn 60 next year and so this is our birthday quilt. I'll make the top, he'll do the quilting. When he saw the colors, he loved it so I just bought the kit. That's okay by me since my youngest is getting married next year as well and I need to focus on getting her fabric planned and bought.

I would like to do this in a different colorway. I wonder if TQS could provide us with a line drawing that we can use to import into our various drawing/photo editing tools and recolor like we had for this year's BOM? I tried to do it myself the other day but the photo of the quilt is not crisp enough for that. If we had that, perhaps we could even import it into Electric Quilt and play with the resizing of it for those of us who want to make it smaller.

I have been waiting for something "special" to use my Cherrywoods. This may be it. I will have to look at them. Good idea!!

I love the colors of Edyta Sitar. May need to buy some of the new fabric lines and use some of the old for scrappiness.

I love the previous line drawing idea. I also use EQ6.

I wish we could have a line drawing too. I am thinking about doing it in a different colourway as well so a line drawing would really help. Especially as I don't have any computer programme such a EQ.

I'm pretty certain that it would be possible to make a line drawing of the design using any of the drawing programmes that work using layers eg. Photoshop, Gimp or Artweaver to name but 3 of the main ones I have come across. It just takes a bit of time and fiddling. (Cannot say about using EQ since I haven't yet met it up close & personal, as it were)

I have the center about done in Illustrator. It's not perfect but should be good enough. I'm not sure how well I can do the appliqués on the outer border. I'm doing this in a hurry while waiting for my DH to bring dinner. Will probably run out of time soon, but will try to find time to finish it this week. When it's finished I will save it as a jpeg.

I've just succeeded in doing the center of the quilt, without the 4 appliques, in EQ7. My eyelids are twitching a little, but it was worth it. I put colors in just to differentiate the different areas. I didn't do the border yet either.

I was thinking of doing it today, but overnight it looks as if Annis & Kathy have beaten me to it....

Might still have a play with the borders, as there was a tool in Gimp that I was introduced to that might be just the ticket for that..........

Rosemary, go ahead and give it a try. The resolution isn't good enough for zooming in to accurately trace the appliques. I do have the top border appliques done. I only had to draw half then copy and mirror it. The sides and bottom will take longer. Maybe you could play with the design and make the smaller wall size that many are wanting to do.

Here's my outline drawing. I enjoyed doing this but don't expect a repeat next year. Hopefully all of the lines join so you won't get any surprises. I did check the background and the color stayed where it was supposed to, but I didn't check all of the little pieces. I tend to work on a project until it's done unless I get distracted or something more important comes up, so that's why I finished so quickly. Now it's time to eat my lunch, leftovers from last night, and move on to other things. Have fun coloring!

OK, it is a bit rough, essentially it is a tracing of the photo of the quilt, so it is not square, but hopefully it will help those who want to play about with different colourways
By the way there are different types of flowers on the left and right hand sides and different types of leaves on the top border, compared to elsewhere too.
Oh well you all now have a choice of 2 outlines, seeing as Annis just beat me to the posting

Annis and Rosemary thank you so much! Don't know how you did it but I am very very grateful. Now I can spend time colouring it in until Margo gets her demos finished.

Thank you, so much, Rosemary and Annis! I have not decided whether I will do this BOM yet, but the ability to play a little with the color might just sway me...
