    Can I be jealous? :?:

I think I'll take tomorrow off since I just this minute finished 2008! Want to revel in it for a day or so!

    Congrats!!!!!

PS: I'll use the freezer paper PP method also.

I am new to the Forum and have just started the 2009 BOM. I talked two of my daughters into doing it also. One lives close by but the other is a couple days drive. It is fun to communicate over the internet and this wonderful site. I would like you to see my daughters quilt block she just finished and put up. It is the one with the brown background. I am so proud of both of them for tackling this project. Hopefully I will finish mine tomorrow and get it in the Show and Tell. Thanks Elaine in Montana

I just posted my finished feathered star in the Show & Tell. I took it very slowly working on this so I wouldn't make a mistake. When paper piecing, I sometimes sew it the wrong direction. I only ripped out 4 pieces, 2 because I sewed them the wrong direction and 2 because I placed them wrong and they didn't fill the space. I'm very pleased with the final result.

Yes I saw the brown and green tones she's using. Beautiful, just like the 2008 BOM, all beautiful and so different. I did have the good fortune to see this quilt done in Houston and my jaw dropped. Sue's choice of colors and prints are stunning. I can't take credit for the fabric, I just handed over my ATM card at the booth.

Elaine, your daughter's block is fantastic. The chocolate brown background made the star pop! How wonderful that you get to share your quilting with your daughters!

Linda, Love your batiks! The color combo is super!

I have all the initial parts pieced, and will put it together today. It is like putting a jigsaw puzzle together. I found there was a rhythm to doing the pieces, and fortunately had no unsewing to do.

Well, I finished my feathered star, too. I posted the picture in the show and tell area. This link MIGHT take you to it!

                            see-quilts/show-and-tell-quilts/

I'm not sure all my intersections quite match where I sewed the subsets together, but from two or three feet back, it looks fine, and that's good enough for me!

I've just posted my January feathered star--I'm very happy with it. There are several possible fabrics with it or I might do something else--I've got a month to decide.

With any luck this will take you there:

Barbara (bbquiltmaker,) your star is wonderful and I'm glad you're the one having to choose the next fabric, not me. I like all your choices. I'm already very confused on what I'm going to use on mine! I don't think a month of thinking about it is going to help much, either!!
