    Question about photo websites

I just posted this question on my member blog but thought this forum might get a few answers as well.

I want to create a photo website where I can post photos of my quilts to show people. Some of you use Webshots, a Google site, Flickr, etc. Why do you use the one you use and what are the pros and cons of these sites that I might not have thought of?

    TIA,

    Barbara

    I wish I knew! ha

I just started with a blog and stayed with it. Don't even know if it's the best way, so hope you get lots of responses. We'll all get more informed!

I use webshots and like it a lot. It's free, and easily accessible. You can check out my webshots site at:

It's not difficult to set up, either, they walk you through the process.

Dont forget you can also add your photos here to your profile.

aside from that, for general public you can use flickr, smugmug, there are tons of them out there. just google search.

It will help get that count up as well.

I've decided I probably prefer using my blog because I can talk between pictures if I want to! But who knows, I might change my mind...............................

I also use 'blogspot' for sharing pictures because you can add any amount of text.

Basically I think we learned one program and just stuck with it... cause it is a pain to keep having to learn different formats and skills.

I keep thinking I would like to blog but so far I have not gotten the courage to try... a little free time would help too.

Computer time steals from my quilting time.

After you get an account set up on Webshots or Flicker, you can post photos on the forum!!! Bridget has just posted directions on how to do it under MEMBER BLOGS, then MYSTERY QUILT BY KATHY JOHNSON!

Thanks, Nancy! My hope is that others reading my blog will be encouraged to begin their own. It's very easy on blogger, once you get the hang of it. Then, if your memory is as recalcitrant as MINE, you have to use it often to not forget the methodology! ha
