Thanks Margo I'm always checking for something new to watch of Sharon Schamber's. I'm just wondering does anybody know what happens to one of the stretched or shrunken blocks when you wash the finished quilt eventually and the starch is washed out? Does it go back to being distorted?

Karen, the starch holds everything flat and square as you assemble the quilt top. After everything is quilted in place it won't shift any more and the starch can be washed out for a soft project.

Being rather OCD, I would take the offending pieces apart and re-do them, I think.

Too Funny!!!!! I just got back from Eureka, Montana for their quilt classes and outdoor quilt show. I saw the heading and wondered -who did I miss seeing there from the forum?
I had a great time, Jackie Robinson lives there and was instrumental in starting the outdoor show, and Carol Doak taught classes. I sat with Jackie at lunch one day and Carol sat our table for dinner. I uploaded a pic of us. My dear friend was the presenter this year. She had to have 25 quilts to show. 5 of us rented a cabin and these gals are hard core quilters. I just can't keep up. I think I was the first to go to bed every night and they always stayed up past midnight sewing....

I thought EUREKA! was a good place to post this discovery.

I have lamented my printer ink showing through the lighter colored fabrics if I wanted to take advantage of printing my blocks on the stabilizer vs tracing each piece. Then last night I realized I could 'adjust' my printer to print much lighter! EUREKA! I went down from 50% to 25% and can go even lower.

Sometimes I truly question my critical thinking skills.

Why did it take me 9 months to think of this? :?: :?:

What a great tip! Not only that...it will save you some ink!!! Personally, I think that they should give away the printers, knowing that we will spend a small fortune on the ink!

                          Good idea Lynn!
And Margo you are right. I've actually bought a whole new printer with ink included on a really good sale when all I needed was ink because it was cheaper than the ink. The printers wear out so fast that we just saved it till we needed it.

Margo I DID get my printer free... it was a full rebate offer w/ the purchase of a laptop which we needed for DS#1... and as most of you know, he's got a twin brother, so I actually got TWO free printers w/ 2 laptops and sold one to a friend! So I sort of made money
