    Road Trip to LaVeta!

I just wanted to let you know that I've been in touch with Lilo about the possibilities of the BOMettes meeting in LaVeta next year. Thinking that we would want to be there when Ricky is there, she suggested that we plan to go during the fall tapings which will be September (?) of 2009. The definate dates for the tapings won't be set until the spring taping, so we won't be able to make any definate plans until then.
Also there are a limited number of seats available for each taping, and they expect anyone who signs up to show up on the appointed date.
We can make plans later, but I wanted to give you a head's up to start planning for a road trip! In the meantime, who thinks they will try to go???
    SEW LONG!
    Margo

I would love to be able to go. I don't know if I can arrange everything. We have over a year to plan and give us time to finish our quilts.

How fun! We need to be sure to allow plenty of time to visit with each other. We'll have to see if there is a hotel big enough for all of us and maybe with a hospitality room or something.

But I have a problem - I haven't even started my BOM yet!!! I do intend to, though

Well, get going already! I would love to go, as well. Just have no idea where I will be - Wisconsin? Arkansas? California? Somewhere in-between? I am really getting tired of being a gypsy. But DH is always up for a road trip. Maybe we'll bring our RV that we bought 3 years ago and still haven't used, even once! lol That is, if the gas ever comes down... oh, that's right, that's another thread!

This would sure be an adventure. I am not a traveler, but it would be nice to have it organized for us. Same hotel, same bus to La Veta, etc.
Put me on the 'sure would like to' list!

Oh, I'm definately in for this one! Caught up on blocks. Feel like I already know each of you! Want to know more. What do we share in common? How are we so very different we could never imagine being friends? But nonetheless, here we are!

What fun. Yes, a big hotel, and I'm sure La Veta has dozens! ha

A B&B will probably have to do! Maybe several B&Bs.

On my calendar for Sept 09!

I'd love to go, and will put it on my calendar -- although I'm in the same boat of needing to start my BOM! I have all the fabric & even have 4 months of heat & bond marked, with the intention of machine appliquing this project -- and now my sewing machine is still in the shop. I may have to go to needleturn in frustration! But I definitely will make this quilt, and would love to meet you all!

Well, you can definitely count ME in on this trip! Having been to one taping, I guarantee you will find the trip worth the time, effort, and $$ -- I had soooo much fun there! More importantly, I think it would be an absolute blast to meet all of you. It's been so much fun to read the forum postings when I get the chance to, and I would enjoy hooking up faces to each of the names and beautiful quilt blocks that I've been viewing. You all are the best!

Yes, I guess we would need to establish criterion such as:

                              1. Does the quilt need to be finished? As in sandwiched AND quilted?

                              or

                              2. Just the blocks completed?

                              or

                              3. Do they need to ALL be completed?

                              or....................

maybe there doesn't need to be ANY criterion! :? :? Just a desire to come and commune together.
