    APRIL BOM

Now that the pattern is posted, this is where we will look for messages that your block is finished!

I just noticed there is no Star Logo in this one. I'm sure that will make it go much quicker! Ya right.

Looking forward to seeing all the blocks. My march is almost done, can't wait to start the new one.

Denise, Sue made half of the blocks with a big star in the background and the other half have a star on the container or in the flowers!! These have stars in the flowers and are called WILD STAR ROSES!

      Enjoy the process!

I posted the beginning of my April BOM. I still need to add all the little circles, there's so many of them. I have all the pieces ready for my needle turn block too. Besides all the circles I do believe that this block is easier than last months block.

Your batiks really do make the blocks look completely different, Judy! Love 'em!
Let us know when you get your berries on!

Ooooo! Judy, love your background! I am about as far as you are. I don't have the circles cut out, thought I would do the basket, stems and flowers first, then add the circles. Still need to audition fabrics for the circles, anyway. Darn this job! Gotta work!

I brought the circles to work today to cut out on my lunch hour. I will be 'seeing' circles when I go back to work! This is a lot of berries! Any easier way to do it? Somebody, HELP! There must be a shortcut out there!

Lynn, I don't know how you are planning to do your berries, but I posted pictures in album #3 on my tutorial that explain how I prepare mine for hand applique. I think one of the easiest ways to do circles is to fuse them and stitch the edges with a narrow satin stitch on the machine, but it takes practice to get them really round! Sue mentions in her directions that we downloaded with the pattern that there are some circle templates available in the TQS Shoppe, but I've never tried that method.

It might make you feel better to check out the quilt on Sue's web site called Lily Rosenberry. Then we can be all thankful that we only have 31 to make for this block!!!
IT'S A BEAUTY, and you can order the pattern if you want to make your own!!!

I find that Karen Kay Buckley's method is the easiest. Using circle templates, Magic Sizing, etc. Then you can machine or hand applique.

I am not familiar with her technique, but it sounds similiar to what I'm doing. Please let us know if she has a link with a tutorial that we can check out!

I use Karen Kay Buckley's perfect circles too. Before that, no matter what I tried, they were never round.

This link http://www.karenkaybuckley.com/store.html has the perfect circles and her bigger circles, but not the instructions.

                            Here's a great tutorial for them http://wwwbluemoonriver.blogspot.com...t-circles.html

Something that is close without using KKB's circleshttp://mccallsquilting.com/curiss/404_makingcircles/

And finally, something I came across that looks interesting

Thanks for the links, Lulabelle! After looking at the links, it's basically the same way I do it, only I cut my own templates the exact size I need from an old manila folder!

OK, ladies...I've posted my April Block!!!
I'm not thrilled with the way my stars look, but for now they are staying put! :?
