Questions for Sarah - Month 3 (March)
Hello Everyone,
I am loving seeing the photos of your quilts coming together with the month 2 blocks added to the month 1 blocks. It's going to be exciting for me to see what you all do with months 3, 4 and 5. You'll all be masters at stitching circles into holes by the end of month 5!!!
This topic is for any questions that you want an answer directly from me. But remember... there are tons of experienced quilters out there who have great answers, great ideas and great ways of doing things - that may be a little different to the way that I do things, and may even be better!
I hope you're all having fun with this BOM!

Hi Lori and Ellen,
Re-reading the cutting instructions, it seams that I can't count. You are quite right - the cutting instructions do not give you the correct number of pieces to finish 3 stars. This is what it should read:
Fizz
O, OO and F are correct - you end up with 48 pieces, 16 for each block.
LT - you need to cut 3 strips and then 16 pieces from each strip
Buttons and Blooms
22017 RED1 and BRO1 - you need a total of 48 pieces, 24 of each. So cut 2 strips of each color.
22015 LTBEI1 - you need 16 pieces for each block, so cut 3 strips (not just the 1 specified).
Checking, double checking, triple checking and having someone else make the quilt to check the instructions apparently does not catch all mistakes. Sorry about that!
Sarah :-)

I am confused. I think the directions are still incorrect. Fabric LT is the background color and F, OO, and O are the spikes of the star. There are 16 spikes and only three colors. That is not going to come out right, as I have discovered as I pieced my first star (or tried to) this afternoon. According to the picture on page 4 of the instructions, every other spike appears to be fabric F. By my count four Os, four OOs, and 8 Fs are required. That would require cutting 24 F pieces, not 12. Am I missing something?

Hi sarah, i have been having a really hard time getting my circles to match up correctly on template 1 , & i am being particularly careful after all my troubles last month.
I had printed them all out on to tearaway, but i eventually decided to print out 1 set on to foundation paper which i was hoping not to use anymore, & lo & behold it matches perfectly. so now i have decided that it goes a bit squwiff maybe when putting our own cut tearaway ( not rickys stuff cos we cant get it ) through the printer & its not necessarily accurate, it could be how i got into such a mess last month & was so far out. Just thought id mention it incase anyone else was having the same trouble. So i hope its ok for me to use foundation paper for this month & see how i go. Really wish i could get my hands on some of rickys stuff
