Sarah,
This may not be timely but for anyone still putting this thing together I found that hand basting the pieces in and then sewing was the trick for me. I am not the most accurate 1/4 inch seamer in the world. I have worked very hard at it but I am just not really good at it. By hand basting(really doesn't take long) I can control my seams and points much better. Hope this helps someone. I don't know how to do pictures or I would send one of mine. It is looking amazing. I can't believe I sewed it.

Hi eterry - I think I would have been better off doing that myself. My hands are scratched and sore from all the pins I used to keep it all in place! But it is done now.
I just want to own up to not having measured my circles at all - I just finished putting it altogether (spent 4 hours unpicking to wiggle out the tucks that appeared!) and I think if I measured it now and found it wrong I would cry!
Right, onto March!

Hi Manuels, nice to see a new face on the forum. I don't know how heavy 28wt is but I would think if it fits through the eye of your needle you could use any thread in your bobbin. I use Superior Bottom Line thread in my bobbin because it is very fine and you can get a lot of thread on the bobbin--less rewinding and more sewing

Hi Sarah
I've made a terrible mistake with month 2. I hadn't realized a had cut all the fabric required early, then picked it up again and didn't I cut the fabric again. Will I have enough fabric now to finish this project? I must have been having a senior moment..I even had it check off...duh!

Good Morning Sarah
Still working on Month 2, but having an issue with the thread. Auriful is not available in Nova Scotia, but I found a supplier in another province, but it's really difficult to select the colors you need. What color would you suggest for the Buttons and Blooms fabric? It's hard to audition colors on the computer..your help is going to be appreciated !!

Hi Pat,
Lisa is the authority on the B&B colors. Here's a post she submitted a while back.
Sarah :-)
Okay ladies. I'm sorry for the delay in my response. I have been very, VERY busy!!! I had to find out from Alex which thread colors I started with to narrow it down which ones I used because some of the spools were gone. I used a two different tones of red, two tones of the natural colors and one blue for my applique on the Buttons & Blooms quilt. They were all 50wt. cotton mako threads and the color numbers are:
2350
2355
2340
2314
1310
Hope this helps!
