block trim of month 2

i trimmed the wrong sides by mistake. I lots of fabric should i do another block and chalk it up to lessons learned.

Well, that was an "oops".

The reason for leaving the outer edges untrimmed until the entire center medallion is finished is to ensure your block comes out to 32.5" (with seam allowances) before adding the borders.

If your piecing is perfect, it will be the correct size. If it's too small, you can add additional to the borders to get it to the required size it needs to be including the two borders.

So, you can still make your corners work. You will know after month 3. Right now those corners should measure 16.5" WITH seam allowances down the two outer sides.

If you want to make a second set, that would be fine too. It's a lot of work. If you love what you have so far, you could wait. It's up to you.

Bet you won't do that again--I learn best from my mistakes!

Problem solved. With great dificulty and creative tapping. I removed pieces 9, 10 and 11 and replaced them with s larger size and did not trim. I now have half an inch excess and this way i saved the rest of the block. Not easy but it worked. Will not make this mistake again
