A GLIMPSE of What’s to Come!
I am having so much fun! It’s hard to contain my enthusiasm for this BOM. Here is what I have so far.
You will LEARN:
how to change a border should you want to
how to make symmetrical borders should you prefer
how to overcome small challenges should your intersections be less perfect than you like
how to use freezer paper or vellum, each has advantages and disadvantages
how to play with color
Get your friends onboard so you can play together.
Watch Becky’s show December 28 then join me LIVE December 29 so we can get our Game On!Barbara Black

Yes, Barbara all you are saying and doing is getting me excited. Power is out here in North Idaho but I have the computer
on the generator so I am good to play. I took the center block I drafted in EQ8 and substituted some borders just to see
what it looks like. HelenWLast edited by Helen W.; 12-22-2025, 08:27 AM.HelenW

Helen, it looks good! I like those colors and the borders. You always find ways to make your quilts original.

Hi Lynnanne, Thanks for the compliments. Glad to see you are still following The Quilt Show as am I. The colors were described by another forum participant and I just decided to try them out. I love Barbara Blacks idea of trying out other border arrangements and colors. It is all so much fun. I made the pattern up in EQ8 just for the fun of playing with different blocks and and different fabric
collections. The sizes are probably close but not exact. Will have to wait for Becky's patterns to
get it correct. Still want to try working in some applique. My favorite quilts have both applique and pieced blocks. I know the circles are appliqué, but I am thinking the 6 inch border would look good
as an applique. I signed up for Ricky Tims class on The Visitation. That is one of the most incredible quilts I have ever seen. Who knows, maybe I can learn something that can be put into
Game On. We have had horrible weather and the power has just come back on, so I will be on
clean up duty outside if the snow does not cover all the downed limbs. Luckily none of our big
evergreen trees blew over but the there is a dozen down just in the quarter mile to the mail box.
Pacific Northwest got hit hard these past several weeks. Looking forward to a quiet winter where
I can spend lots of hours quilting. HelenW

Twas the night before Christmas
When all thru the land,
Only Barbara Black was stirring
With patchwork in hand.
Her blog was not ready, the you tubes a mess,
Why poor weary Barbara was late,
Not one quilter could guess.
When what to her wondering eyes would appear,
but all the TQS quilters with all of their great.
They went straight to work--prepping Game On creations,
Giving them to Barbara with out hesitation.
The quilting was good, and the colors quite nice,
Made just for Barbara, there was to be no price.
With the sewing room cleaned and their work was all done
They boarded the bus, Now ready to depart,
When Barbara exclaimed, Only TQS quilters would have such a big heart.
Now Barbara knew this was all just a dream
But, to her, the forum is her Dream Team.
Yes, we all had much fun in 2025, but thinking ahead, we know
Game On will be such a ball, with quilting coach Barbara leading it all.
Her Dream Team awaits all the fun for next year
With Wishes of Happy Quilting for all and Merry Christmas to Barbara.

Thank you, Helen! That is so sweet. I am excited for 2026, ready to watch Becky's show on Sunday and join everyone LIVE on Monday December 29, 2025, noon central time.
I made the last batch of cookies this morning so I am officially ready for Christmas. Now, it's time for my walk...
