Laurie F. Your Tula Pink critters are so, so cute. It is always fun to take the time to fussy cut a piece
to draw observers in. If other quilters can't see them, click on the photo and use the zoom. Only works
on the first photo, so click on that one. You will see a little + in the curser, click on it and everything
        gets really big.

Two months of appliqu’. Almost invisible machine technique using 80wt thread as Barbara suggested.

When i did the snowdrops, I attempted a couple of methods, unsuccessfully. I finally used a piece of lightwt embroidery stabilizer, traced the snowdrp on the wrong side of the fabric and sewed it using a very short stitch. Then i slit the stabilizer, turned it the best i could. I think it turned out well! My best method anyway. I’ll post a photo.

So excited that I finished my New York flowers. I designed each flower that you see based on the garden that I had when I lived in New York. Most flowers are satin stitched; the trillium is needle turned appliqué; can you find the one that is completely thread painted? I used a lot of different techniques that I have learned these past years while learning to quilt. I look forward to finishing this quilt as it has really become "my own". Thank you Barbara for reminding me that "it is your quilt"; this freed me to change things around and make it my own.

Beautiful quilt Paola. Is the thread painted one left side, second from bottom??? Your New York flower garden is a great idea. I really like the uniformity of just using one block for the second
border in from the center. Like you, I love making the quilt my own by changing up the pattern.

I love your lady slippers, jack in the pulpit, Trillium and other wildflowers. Such creativity!

Your absolutely right Helen! The Queen Anne's Lace is completely thread painted. The flowers are embroidered. I had to use a blue thread instead of white as the flowers should be so that we could see the flower. Thank you for your compliment. It means a lot as I love love your work. You always do something interesting to make these quilts your own and I always love seeing what you do. It is inspirational.
