Should we wait til Month 3 to add circles so that we can mix the fabrics amongst all 4 blocks?
It s not a typo. The Yellow Stripe for Month 2 is for circle A, the smallest one. The yellow stripe fabric is 1`" wide, big enough for those small circles.

Look at the Fabric Requirements each month, pull that month's fabrics and it should be easy to see which fabrics to use.

Some people are making all the circles now, from whichever fabrics they choose, some are waiting to finish the rest in month 3. Do whatever makes sense to you.

Month 2 provides most of the circles for the quilt. In Month 7 there are 2 larger circles, 3" and 4", used in the wide border made in Month 7.

I have been accused of being OCD. I measured the paper pattern on every sheet and the smallest circles are 5/8" not 1/2". I tried making 1/2" and they were a disaster but the 5/8" worked with KKB mylar and also cardboard and foil. I think it is because my fingers are too big but the 5/8" look fine.

Sarah said they are 1/2” but mine are 5/8”. Still small.

Yes l also found this so abd continued with the 5/8” . I am happier working with this size

I used my Accuquilt to cut out all the circles, both the cardboard [which I ended up not using] and the fabric. Saved a ton of time. If anyone is interested here is a link to the cutting assistant chart that lists where to find each size.

So little by little, my circles are getting to be nice and smooth like Sarah's. Some things I've learned....
            1. Make sure your cardboard circles are nice and smooth - perfectly smooth.
            2. A nice quarter inch or even scant quarter inch seam allowance around the circle is a must
            3. The idea of making the tinfoil a circle and not to much excess helps a lot.
            4. Take your time and really smooth the foil around the edge - tight - tight - tight
            5. Take your time with the press - I haven't had any fabric scorch and it will crisp up the edges to a nice crease!

Hope that helps someone - my circles are still not perfectly circular but they are getting there!

I have all the month two circles done! I used the tinfoil method. Did anyone else suddenly have a craving for popcorn? Or was it just me? (Memories of JiffyPop) LOL

I did notice that when I was done, my studio had little bits of fabric, tin foil and wax paper (used on the A's) everywhere. I thought GEE! for a hand project this sure made a huge mess!

Can you suggest a way to erase the gel marker from fabric? Fabric erasers do not work so I think pencil erasers do not work either.

Sarah talks about using the pen in her show and says it will be mostly gone as the hand appliqué is done. She did say not to use it to mark a quilt for quilting because you might find it doesn’t come out.
