The process from month one has helped me to grow as a quilter. Using the black and white option on my camera has helped me to balance the multitude of colors. Also, I have hand appliquéd all of the blocks, but with the Dresden flowers I screwed up the gumption to start machine quilting. This gave me confidence to try it on the month 6 vase. While this may be strange to do the change up now, it is my opinion that this is a learning process and the change represents my quilting growth.

From the beginning I have encouraged folks to use this project as a “sampler of techniques “. You have a beautiful quilt here.

I can’t believe I am all caught up since I decided to start this over Memorial Day weekend. I opted out of doing the pieced blocks so I have designed some of my own applique blocks using elements of GPDU while adding other flowers and leaves. I just love how it is turning out.

Robin, I just love dark backgrounds, and you fabulous looking quilt just confirms it. Love the muted
colors in combination with the dark brown. At least it looks dark brown on my computer monitor.

Hi all, this is Catherine from Olympia WA.
Finally caught up at month six (having taken several 'liberties' along the way).
This has been a lot of fun -- I'd only done a few pieces of raw-edge appliqué before.
