My fabric choice for the one vase may not be the best, but hey, I liked it.

Frances, You blocks look great. You are very speedy. Hope you don't drive as quick as you quilt.

Month of May means lots of birds building nests in North Idaho. So that is the theme for my block this month.
Decided to do a nest with babies and Cedar Waxwings. I was thinking Hummingbirds since they just got here,
but I guess I will do them for block 6. This is a photo of the start, still needs a lot of work, but really fun work.

Click on the picture to see the bottom row too. I did a poor job of hanging it up so it looks better than the picture.

Love your unusual color scheme! As a new member I am very much enjoying the work of members who stay true to Irene's design but make it their own through color and fabric choices.

Molly, In defense of those that don't stay true to the pattern design, I like to take a quilt that does not fit my style and keep the general
structure, and then try to come up with what does fit my style and taking advantage of being able to use the pattern that is part of
the membership. It is all fun. If it is a quilt pattern here I always enjoy seeing what all the creative quilters here come up with. HelenW

Shari - Love how you maintained a color scheme but each flower is different. This is definitely a fun quilt!

My favorite block so far. I unearthed this piece of fabric from my stash and all the flowers are made from different parts of the same fabric as the pitcher. And I totally love the chicken featured on the picture.

Ellen, You are right, featuring the chicken on the vase is just too cute. Using the same fabric for the whole block was a great idea. HelenW

Connie, Thank you for the compliment. The longer I quilt, the easier it gets to focus on doing what I really like in
whatever pattern I am doing. I just pick out my favorite things for that theme, and work them into the quilt. HelenW

Second block for month 5 is finished. I have to admit I messed up the leaves somehow, and the ones on the left are reversed. But I think they look fine. I was going to redo them, but that fabric went into hiding, so I just used what I had.

Thank you all for the kind words! The border will be the blue pieced triangles as the inner borders with the vases on the sides as Irene’s design.

Pamela, I love your colors. I tend to migrate to bold, pure colors, but your color palette is inspiring me to step out of my comfort zone.
