TIP FOR MONTH 3 Appliqué Block
In this month’s LIVE I show an important tip for trimming the appliqué block to the correct size: 13.5”W X 12.5” H

Oh no. I finished and trimmed mine yesterday! Now what???Last edited by Linda J.; 03-05-2022, 01:13 PM.

Linda, What size did you trim it to? If you did not make it wide enough, but you got all the applique
in your block, you could add the amount to the other applique block that will be in that row.
Example, If you trimmed to 12.5 wide, you need 1 more inch for the correction. Instead of making your other applique block 13.5 wide as pattern states, add the inch to that width and cut it 14.5 wide.
You could add a little extra length to some of the stems of flowers to take up the space so it looks
pleasing. Just one idea. HelenW
So I see several measurements for the appliqué block #3. 13.5 x 12.5 w. I think the measurements are 12.5 h x 13.5 w. Please make clear.
13.5" WIDTH X 12.5" HEIGHT. The four vases in Months 3, 4, and 5 are ALL this size.Barbara Black

Linda, the suggestion made by HelenW is not the best solution. I recommend against that.
IF YOU CUT the block 12.5" square instead of 13.5" x 12.5", SAVE IT FOR LATER. Months 6, 7,8, and 9 all have vase blocks that are 12.5" unfinished. You can simply substitute this block of one of those.
Please clarify what size you trimmed your block to--this discussion is confusing others. You made it sound like there had been a correction to the pattern for cutting size--there was NO correction--the pattern is correct as written.
Thank you!Barbara Black

[;n892411]I am so sorry for causing confusion.
Linda, I am so happy you got it right. When things unexpected happen it is easy to panic. Luckily, it turned out to be correct for
you. I agree with Barbara, that her solution was better. I was just thinking what would I do, if I was in your place. I did not
know there were other applique blocks in the future months that would be 12 1/2 square where the blocks could trade places. That would be the best
solution. HelenW
