    Trimming

Barbara, are we suppose to trim the bottom of the houses as we make them? You had trimmed the top and sides but held it up and the bottom wasn’t. Thank you. I have watched videos so many times. Thank you for doing this. You are the best teacher EVERRR.

Thank you! In the Show, #2801, I demo trimming the bottom of the Small House, at about 39:00 minutes. The bottom edge is a curve so cannot be cut straight across. Cut carefully in small bites. Trim all edges of all units before removing the paper. The paper only serves to create accurate units, which are then pieced together with a 1/4” seam like piecing any other quilt pieces, without paper.

Ditto, Barbara, on your teaching skills! You're doing a beautiful job! Glad I discovered this site (thanks to a post on the FB FPP group). I'm waiting for my freezer paper sheets to arrive before I try the recommended PP method. In the interim, I'm going old school and doing FPP. I have completed three houses so far - when I get my 4th house complete - do we join the houses in large/small pairs, and then join the pairs - or do you recommend completing all the houses to check color placement, and THEN sew together making the center circle?
Also, this is my 2nd FPP project, I've only been quilting a couple of years. Do I join the houses with the paper, or remove my paper before joining the pieces? TY for your kind support and patience!

Ninabeheim, absolutely do NOT join the houses yet. That will happen after the Month 3 houses are made, then they are sewn into pairs so the Trees can be added. Only then will the 32 houses be joined into a circle.

Here is the post I made about this January 7:

        https://thequiltshow.com/forum/bom-2021-color-my-world/9404-do-not-sew-houses-together-yet

I know there is SO MUCH info it can be hard to find it all or keep up. The easiest thing to do is go to Recent Topics when you come to the Forum, to see what is being discussed. However, at the moment there are 5 pages of Recent Topics--I had to go to page 3 to find this one.

Another tip: use the Search box, right up there on the bar that says Index Recent Topics New Topics, etc--Search is at the right side end. Use one or two keywords to try to find posts about the question you have--it might already be something we have discussed.
